Ordering, Shipping & Return Policies

Ordering

  1. Invention prototype products are built, packaged and shipped from our lab in Spokane, WA. USA.
  2. Artwork products (EG: apparel, mugs, stickers) are manufactured and shipped by Printful. Printful has facilities all over the world, and will ship from the product manufacturing facility closest to you for optimal cost and time.
  3. All other physical products, unless specified in the product description, are packaged and shipped from our lab in Spokane, WA. USA.
  4. Digital products such as Reproduction Plans are downloaded immediately after the order is placed and payment received.
  5. We do not collect VAT for international orders during checkout. This may result in additional fees upon delivery of the package.
  6. Ordering is secure and we do not retain any financial data on you. Learn more.
  7. We reserve the right to refuse processing an order or restricting access to ordering on our site. If an order is placed and is refused, we will send you an email explaining why and provide a full refund for the order.

Payments

  1. We accept payments via PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Facebook Pay, and credit card.
  2. Credit cards accepted: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Diners Club, and American Express.
  3. Order processing is secure. Read our Privacy and Security policies for more details.
  4. Sales tax is added to Washington State addresses. Tax rate is based on destination.
  5. Sales tax may be added to other orders based on the tax laws in your area.

Shipping

  1. Invention prototype products are built, packaged and shipped from our lab in Spokane, WA. USA.
  2. Artwork products (EG: apparel, mugs, stickers) are manufactured and shipped by Printful. Printful has facilities all over the world, and will ship from the product manufacturing facility closest to you for optimal cost and time. Printful uses their own carrier of choice depending on the product/destination, and may or may not include tracking/insurance. It typically takes 2-5 business days to fulfill an order. Learn more (including typical pricing and shipping times). Any issue with your order is handled by Laboratory 424 and falls under our policies mentioned here as well as Printful's policies.
  3. All other physical products, unless specified in the product description, are packaged and shipped from our lab in Spokane, WA. USA.
  4. Digital products such as Reproduction Plans are downloaded from our site and are not subject to shipping and handling charges.
  5. We ship orders within 2-5 business days from the time payment is made.
  6. We ship using the United State Postal Service, UPS, DHL worldwide.
  7. It is your responsibility to secure the package at the destination. Laboratory 424 is not responsible for lost/stolen/missing packages after delivery.
  8. Report damaged or undelivered packages within 14 days of scheduled delivery date.
  9. Make sure your address is correct. If your package is returned because of insufficient/incorrect address you will be responsible for reshipping fees.
  10. Total shipping costs for orders include both shipping and handling charges.
  11. If you have a tracking number, you can check tracking status at either: USPS tracking page, UPS tracking page, or DHL tracking page.
  12. Some packages may require a signature for delivery. Monitor delivery tracking and plan accordingly.

Shipping: Domestic Orders

  1. An email with your delivery confirmation or tracking number is sent when each order is shipped.
  2. United States and its associated territory orders are shipped via the United States Postal Service or UPS and are tracked/insured. Ship time varies by carrier/service. USPS Mail Service Information. UPS Mail Service information (see pg. 6)

    Shipping: International Orders

    1. We will send you an email with your customs and (if applicable) tracking number when each order is shipped
    2. We do not devalue package contents.
    3. International orders may be subject to import fees which are outside our control in addition to shipping costs.
    4. Customs in your country may hold your package without notifying you, expecting you to contact them to pick it up. Be sure to contact your local Post Office when delivery is expected if necessary. You will need your customs number to claim your package. If your package is returned you will have to cover the cost of re-shipping.
    5. We will ship to nearly any international country. If your country does not show up in our cart/checkout, let us know using the contact form so we can investigate.
    6. International orders are shipped via the United States Postal Service or DHL and are tracked/insured. Ship times varies by carrier/service. USPS Mail Service Information. DHL Mail Service Information. USPS First-Class and Priority Mail International tracking may vary by destination in your country. USPS tracking details in your country is dependent on the local mail carrier's compatibility to USPS tracking. If this is a concern, use USPS Priority Mail Express International shipping for the best quality tracking.

    Returns, Refunds, and Replacements

      1. Artwork products (EG: apparel, mugs, stickers) are manufactured and shipped by Printful. These products fall under Printful's return policy.
      2. We do not offer returns, refunds, nor replacements for Reproduction Plans, Consultation, and Limited Release Prototype products. All other products on the Laboratory 424 store may qualify for a return/replacement unless otherwise noted in the product description.
      3. Returns and replacements require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number within 14 days of receipt. We’ll refund or replace your purchase after we receive the returned product.
      4. RMA numbers are valid for thirty (30) days from date of issue.
      5. We will not accept nor be responsible for any returned product without an assigned RMA number.
      6. Refunds will be for the amount you paid for the item minus shipping and handling charges.
      7. You are responsible for shipping charges and insuring any product shipped or returned to us. The RMA number must be clearly printed on the RMA slip and on the exterior of the shipping container.
      8. If an item is damaged or undelivered, you need to contact us within 14 days of receipt so we can fix the problem. Depending on the situation, we will issue an RMA with further instructions or just send you a replacement.
      9. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable, we will refund your payment minus shipping and handling charges.
